In 2013, I rode 8500 kilometers around Vietnam on a 150cc Honda Dream. It was an epic trip. An epic adventure.
At the apex of my long road trip, almost as far north as I was planning to travel, I found myself in the small hill station of Bac Ha. To put it all into context here is my diary entry;
Day 41. Bac Ha.
A morning wandering the bustling Sunday market, and plucking interesting looking MONTAGNARDS from the crowd and leading them astray to my impromptu studio... :-) Say hello to a few... :-) And now after a 3 hour run across to Sapa, I'm all wrapped up in my duvet shivering for the first time in 3 years. It's high altitude country here, cold, mist and drizzle is part of the Sa Pa experience! But I'm not complaining, it's nice to be cold for once and here all snuggled up I'm enjoying looking over my day's photography...nice little collection of hill tribe folks I think! :-)Anyway my idea is to add in some Black H'Mong who are prevalent around SaPa....oh and some Red Dao too.
